Sky & Binocular Shadow Showrunner 

Haleema Mirza, writing two episodes of upcoming Binocular show PRISONER for Sky, will also be serving as the inaugural Sky & Binocular Shadow Show Runner 2024. Haleema came to PRISONER having written episodes of THE GENTLEMEN (Netflix) and DOMINO DAY (BBC3), and she’s someone that Sky have been tracking for some time. 

The Shadow Showrunner scheme was devised by Binocular as a way to help support the next wave of UK show runners. The goal is for writers to get experience with creative multiplicity of show-running. Haleema will be dipping into every element of PRISONER from the writers’ room to casting to conversations around design in pre-production and to a presence on set and in post-production. 

Binocular is excited to work more with Haleems to help realise the first season of our show.
